Terms of Service
Last updated: 18 October 2026
1. Agreement
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a contract between you and Australian Event Productions Pty. Ltd. (ABN: 97 016 334 024), trading as Comm (“Comm”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using Comm’s web app, admin console, or companion apps, you agree to these Terms. If you’re using Comm on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have the authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
2. What Comm is
Comm is planning and coordination software for radio-comms and event-production teams: event/system setup, roster and equipment management, and companion apps for on-site check-in/check-out on a phone and the planning console on a tablet. Features vary by plan tier.
3. Accounts
You’re responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that happens under your account. Tell us right away if you suspect unauthorised access. You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
4. Your event data, and other people’s information
You own the event data you add to Comm. You’re responsible for the accuracy of that data. Where you add personal information about someone else (crew, cast, contractors, or anyone else on your roster), you’re responsible for having the appropriate authority to give us that information so we can process it on your behalf, in line with our Privacy Policy.
Optional features like ID card verification and rental agreement signing collect more sensitive information (a photo of an ID, a signature). Only enable these for an event if you have a lawful basis and appropriate notice in place for the people you’ll be asking to use them.
5. Subscription plans and billing
Comm offers a free trial (currently 7 days, no payment card required), followed by paid Standard, Pro, and Enterprise plans with different feature access. Paid plans are billed and processed through Stripe, our third-party payment processor; we don’t see or store your full card details ourselves. When the free trial ends, your account is locked until you subscribe to a paid plan; your events and everything in them stay in your account.
Current pricing is shown on the Billing page in Account Settings and at checkout. You can subscribe to a plan at any time from Account Settings, and change or manage an existing subscription, including updating your payment method or cancelling, through your Billing Portal (also in Account Settings, powered by Stripe). If you cancel, you’ll keep access to your plan’s features until the end of your current billing period, after which your account will be locked until you resubscribe.
We may change pricing for future billing periods and will give you reasonable notice before any change takes effect for an existing subscription.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Comm for anything unlawful, or to store/transmit information you don’t have the right to.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to another account, event, or any part of Comm’s systems.
- Interfere with or disrupt the service, or reverse-engineer it beyond what’s permitted by law.
- Use Comm to harass, harm, or unlawfully surveil any person.
7. AI usage
Some of Comm’s optional features involve AI. See our AI statement for a plain-language explanation of exactly where and how, including our Model Context Protocol (MCP) integration, which only ever acts on data you or your organisation choose to expose to it.
8. Intellectual property
Comm, its software, design, and branding belong to Australian Event Productions Pty. Ltd. Nothing in these Terms transfers any of that to you. You retain ownership of the event data you put into Comm.
Equipment makers’ product and company names (such as Riedel, RTS, Clear-Com, Green-GO, Pliant and Unity Intercom) are trademarks of their owners. Comm uses them only to identify the equipment you plan for. Comm is independent and isn’t affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of them, and the drawings of their equipment in Comm are Comm’s own illustrations.
9. Availability and changes
We aim to keep Comm available and reliable, but we don’t guarantee uninterrupted access. We may need to perform maintenance, and we may add, change, or remove features over time. We’ll make reasonable efforts to communicate significant changes.
10. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
Comm is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by Australian Consumer Law and other applicable law, we exclude all warranties not expressly stated in these Terms, and our liability to you for any claim arising from your use of Comm is limited to the amount you’ve paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim (or, if you’re on a free plan, to us re-supplying the service). Nothing in these Terms excludes any consumer guarantee or other right that can’t lawfully be excluded.
11. Termination
You can stop using Comm at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these Terms, or that we reasonably believe poses a security or legal risk to Comm or other users.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of Comm will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Australian courts.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We’ll update the date at the top of this page when we do, and for material changes we’ll make reasonable efforts to let account holders know before they take effect.
